So here's something I've never seen before. My son has a set of MCS 3-way speakers that he's re-foamed and they sound pretty good. After our recent move, he hooked them up and one of the woofers was scraping. He removed the basket gasket and re-aligned them and they worked for a while, but then the woofer locked up again. When we examined the back he noticed that the magnet has a screw in the middle and it is movable. Makes us think that this magnet has been moving around and changing the aligment.
Question is:
How do we get that magnet centered correctly again and lock it down so the driver quits scraping? Is there a process for this? Anybody heard of a screw down magnet before?
