I have a tweeter not working in my JBL HLS820's and it is not at all obvious as to how to get into these cabinets. Any tips?
From past experience is it the tweeter or crossover that tends to give trouble in these?

Pop a woofer out and reach in from behind the horn. JBL used soft, gummy gaskets on the woofers so it may take some effort to unseat. The tweeter has a sort of twist lock notched interface with the horn like a domestic car's brake light bulb.

The tweeter is quite fragile, it's a wimpy little $5 poly dome trying to play too low. If you blew it and noticed quickly, the crossover is probably ok, but they do go as well. Crossover is a very small unit seated on the terminal cup, so it is also easy to get to and inspect.

Thanks for that, so my question wasn't so stupid after all, I'll have a play.
