hello!

im interested in learning more about actual vintage alnico-driver-treatment and remagnetization.
i think the drivers have to measured and then treated right -is this something every repairshop does or do i have to seek a special place?
any suggestions greatly welcome, especially shops in europe.

...not that i want to get a remag right away, but im curious about the possibilities.

thanks,
mikey

I read somewhere that the only way to test them is when the repairer dismantles the cone as they would for a recone (not refoam). They can remag without doing this but won't be able to test if it's been successful or not by checking the flux density in the gap. That why it's a good idea (and more cost effective) to get susceptible alnico drivers recharged as and when you have them reconed, as a matter of habit.

Sounds like it's easier to get done in the States, though.
