Has anyone relied on Orange Countys' crossover networks for replacement or speaker system scratch building?

...you mean pre-assembled passive crossovers like 2-way and 3-way Daytons?

...I've tried several; generally OK. These typically don't come with attinuators, so you might want to consider adding these for more flexibility.

there are lots of purists here that advocate using only factory units that were specifically designed for your system.

...that said, I've used dozens of different combos both factory and pre-built with good results.

Obviously, you need to match the crossover point to the drivers which is sometimes difficult using the pre-builts.

The other option is to either (1) buy a suitable vintage factory unit on FleaBay, or (2) build one based on factory specs from components (e.g., inductors and capacitors).

There are factory electronic schematics for most vintage systems listed on this cite.

Its all on paper at this point, that is why I wanted to know how difficult it might be to find the correct crossovers. I would like to use; LF le14 or d130, MID L300 mid horns, and HF 076 or 077s. I have an interest in using a passive radiator as opposed to base porting, might down load the PR, or possibly front load somewhat similar to L220s. thanks.
