Hello,
Some pictures of my DIY Power Line Filters.
The set includes:
-1 SUPRA Lorad cable 2.5 mm ²
-10 Pole 20A breaker.
-1 Capacitor RIFA 0.047 micro Farad - X2 - 250 volt input filter
-10 Schaffner filters FN352Z
-1 ERO capacitor 0.22 micro Farad - X2 - 250 volt output filter
-12 Schuko receptacle
The whole is mounted in a custom box and wired cable 2.5 mm ², is the ground wire 4mm ².
The result is very conclusive.

Really clean, very nice work. Do most people use power conditioners? I am reworking my electric service at my home, should I build something into the wiring system since I'm starting up from scratch? Is there a situation where a ac filter or conditioner would not be needed? thanks.

That is a substantial peice of kit. I use schaffner filters quite a lot. Very heavy duty and probably a marked improvement on off the shelf stuff.

Any AC experts here? I was just looking this over, so it appears you are using some top flight EMI/RFI filters... I wonder how important that really is. A friend is currently installing a similarly complex looking fully balanced AC front end for his system. I wonder how they compare?

Of course neither, filtered or balanced will affect under, over, or varying voltage conditions. I wonder if a ginormous UPS system like those used on server farms would be even better?

I wonder if a ginormous UPS system like those used on server farms would be even better?

It is similar to filters for speakers. Different loads require different values for R,C,L. The filter must suit the local demands ...
I once analyzed a mains filter within a fotocopy machine, it filtered all above 1 kHz (12 dB/oct).
