These will move Heaven and Earth.....

After many nights of working on them, I finaly got to listen to them... WOW!!!

3.04 Cu ft each
Inside dim 23"H x 17" W x 15" D
Two layers of 3/4 MDF laminated and some inside bracing.
Topped them off with walnut veneer and a cherry stain prior to Watco oil finish
I stuffed each of them with 2lb of Acoustastuff (Nylon wool)
Connected to a Mackie M2600 (at 800+Watts/chan)using Speakon connectors and 12Gauge wire

Crossover seems best at 90HZ

I have attached some photos:

Beautiful! How exactly did you do that big curve in front? I've been thinking of some designs for mine and that's really intriguing!

Thanks,
The curve on the front was done using a router and a fixture that I built out of wood. Building that fixture took as much time as building the box.

Very nice looking speakers! The curvature on the top really adds dimension and form to what would've been a plain jane looking box. The construction pics were good as you can see the generous amount of sealant used as well as the careful attention to detail. Obviously, the sound is as good as the looks and you seem to be very happy with the results. Good job!

Very nice. What was the method you used to laminate the MDF and what are the diameters of the baffle cut-outs?

What was the method you used to laminate the MDF and what are the diameters of the baffle cut-outs?

The MDF was glued under pressure and screwed together with 1.25" drywall screws at approx 4" intervals. The front panel was reinforced with glue blocks along the top and bottom. This provides reinforcement for the area that was radiused.
All together, the completed Subs weighs about 120 lbs each. Difficult to manipulate by ones self.

The cutouts are 14" dia on the inner layer, and 15.5" on the outer layer
