I have a chance to aquire either; 4412s or the L112s, both in similar condititon, what should I know about both? Would the 4412s react badly to a vertical position? thanks. And also what would be the used value of both when they are in the same condititon? Appreciate any info.

My 4412's are OK vertically, though I do like them better set up horizontally. Not sure what the going price is now, since everything seems to be a race to the bottom lately.

4412's have a more modern, higher reaching HF driver in the 035Ti. They're going to be dryer, more clinical, but if you're listening near-field, the better setup. Vertical orientation, although not ideal, isn't likely to be a huge issue.

It's no secret I'm a big L112 fanboy and think they're one of JBL's best ever "bookshelf" offerings. If you have a larger room, I'd lean to the L112's.

Pricing is all over the place, depends on the venue, relationship to seller, locality, phase of the moon, etc. I've seen nice L112's go for upwards of $800, I picked up my 4412's needing a refoam for around $220 after settling because of blown 035's so i have about $350 in them. When I was tracking them on fleabay 6 months ago, they were regularly going 400-500.

I've HAD 4412's but sold them after only abt 6 months ownership...acquired L-166's that I liked better, but the 4412s had higher resale value, so it was a no-brainer which pair to keep & sell.

You mite toss that model into your equation, if you like the retro unique grills.
