View Full Version : 2241G - best cab for small club PA use?

Hello All...

I've been working with a local band, some of the history of the PA is here:
http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=21626 (http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=21626)

Essentially, they have two MR938 cabs (2042H 18"s) and two MR918 cabs (with non-original 2241G 18"s in them). Crown power, DBX crossover, Carvin mixer. 938 cabs now have NOS 2042Hs, and are running with all original driver #s.

The main question is the MR918 cabs - I know the cabs might not be the correct design for the 2241G drivers in them. Plus, the drummer (who owns much of the PA gear) now also has 2 spare 2241G drivers and a hankerin' to build some cabs. Can anyone point me to the JBL cabs that these drivers are happiest in? I've grabbed the white papers for SR4718, 4718X, and 4718A cabs. Any feedback (or building plans!) for these or other cabs would be helpful.

Other suggestions have been made to beef up the 938s (in the thread linked above), anything in that direction would also be helpful.

Forum member Rudy Kleimann was quite helpful in the past in PMs and e-mails, thanks for that.

Thanks in advance.
