I just acquired a very clean pair of these old woofers. They are untouched and without flaw. The cones are marked 130-202. The foilcals indicate they are the 16 ohm version. I bought them off the original owner and the serial #s are fairly far apart as he started out with a MONO rig and added another box a few years later, transitioning to STEREO.

Weird thing is though when nominal DC resistance is measured with my Fluke the readings are 5.1 and 5.5 ohms respectively.

Why is this?

Thanks
Jim

I read in the Library that the voice coil of the 130A is wound to "match a source impedance" of 16 ohms.

I'd still like to know what the nominal reading should be for a healthy driver.

Thanks again

From what I was able to find, the "spec" is 5.7 ohms, but I came across this in the context of other posts and sources. Not an "official" source.

Certainly seems to coincide with what I have.

If anyone can verify that this is correct that would be great.

Thanks
Jim

Re = D.C. resistance. ... Looks like 5.7 ohms in the JBL provided table.
