After using Genelec 1032A s for a couple of years, then a JBL LSR system, I'm going home.
Broke out the old 4312s , Crown PS200, Soundcraftsman 20-12A
and a Soundcraft 200B.
I'm in heaven !
No more digitally squashed audio.
In your face detail again !

I know what you mean, too. The 43xx series is pretty special.


Broke out the old 4312s...Not so privately ;) , the only "swap" I personally endorse is to try the 128H in that very cabinet.

Here is my model from WinISD - dated June 2003 :o: - in the 4312 cabinet.

Green = 123A (stock)
Yellow = 128H

The 123 has that pronounced "hump" popular in the '70's. I found the 128H more pleasing (neutral) and it seemed to offer better "bass extension" - but that impression could be solely psychoacoustic as it sure is not very obvious in the model.

I'm sure Grumpy could run a model, or Widget (he never has returned my BassBox Pro... :scold: ).

Anyway, since you're revisiting the past, this might be an interesting - and hella easy - thing to trial.

2dB at 40Hz and that freq range would be more audible against a less
boosted upper-bass. :) Isn't it all psychoacoustic? ;)
