I saw him just a few days ago, when he was still a youngster. I gave him and his mom a little tour and a quick stop at the Dome-icile to see the Synthesis® boxes.

Great to see you and happy birthday!

Yep, was in LA a few days back, on my west coast trip and had the great pleasure to meet Doug and to spend some time with him.

Right now I'm in Nevada and have spent my 50th in Las Vegas. Usually I'm not so easy to impress but this city exceeded all my expectations – I was actually blown away by a tour through the casinos of today, and will stay another day. :applaud:

So far I've also been to Arizona and Utah. Maybe I'll report more detailed and post some pics in the next days when I have time to go online again. Still a week left..

Hmm, had to sort through a full 1GB chip (digicams are both a blessing and a curse ), and on second thought I got hesitant to post a bunch of touristic pics in an audio forum? :hmm: Maybe more later in the off topic section.

Yes absolutely, nature and landscapes were gorgeous. The timing was perfect – I was lucky enough to get to know wide parts of the West Coast states, and all National Parks I visited mostly green and blooming. Many parts of California and Nevada that, I was told, will be much more arid again in a couple of weeks – and even the desert – presented themselves dipped in wonderful colors all over.

Another real highlight was San Francisco without a single cloud, and an excellent dinner at Mr. & Mrs. Widgets regular haunt. The conversation with both about everything and anything was so vivid and pleasing that audio talk actually faded into the background a bit, and apparently I missed to take many pics. But I had the chance to listen to his terrific JBL/TAD system in his house briefly, and also really remarkable is his shop, and the enviable machine park in there.
