Hi all,

What are the differences between 2440 and 2482 , except the diaphragm ?

If i equip a 2482 driver with a 2441 diaphragm ( Titanium), the result shall be equivalent to na 2441?

The `41 uses an aluminum diaphragm, the `82 uses a phenolic diaphragm. The two are NOT interchangeable. The 2482 diaphragms mounting is a bit different than the 40/41 and will only fit the 82.

Hey, Bruno,

I think the information you want may be in this thread:

Bruno. the difference in the diaphragms is 'simply' the orientation of a 'guide pin'. I have known - seen - 2482's drilled so that they
can accept a titanium and/or aluminium diaphragm..... not sure
I'd want to go ahead and start drilling unless you 'really' know what you are doing.

cheers

Guenter,

As a matter of fact, a seller in my county made to me a good price for couple of 2482, but i only need 2440/41 to replace my 2445.

Then, i believe it's preferable to wait for an original 2441 rather than changing the 2482 diaphragm!

Thank you again!

Hi Bruno,
why do you want to replace the 2445 with 2440/41???

Has anyone tried the 2441 diaphragm in the 2445 motor?

I have heard the 2445 titanium diaphragm in the 2441 motor and definitely prefer the aluminum 2441 diaphragm.

As Mr Widget says, i would like the 2440 aluminium diaphragm, that i prefer too .
In addition to the smoothest sound, Imo the limited response in High frequencies does not require low-pass filtering. ( I actually use 2445 and 2405 with a 7 Khz/ 12 db cut off frequency)

Some guys says that RADIAN diphragms are the good way to find again the sound of aluminium diaphragms, whith the titanium reliability
