i recently acquired a pair of Altec 417-8C speakers in some interesting old smaller open back slant-faced boxes. the drivers are in great shape, and are original.
i'd love to find a frequency response chart for these.. anyone?
any recommendations on the best type of enclosure for getting the best out of these? infinite baffle? ported, open back, like a guitar amp? looking for the smoothest, most even midrange response, rather than power handling, or specific purpose.
i am impressed with these drivers. even run full range they sound great, once the ear acclimatizes to the drop in HF after 6-7 k. very dynamic and lively.
