Have any of you JBL 4343 Studio Monitor owners removed the removeable front speaker panel? Did you find 3 long pieces of fiberglass wedged behind the compression driver?
Just wondering if this practice was stock on 4343s coiming from the JBL factory.

Come on guys, do you expect me to believe that none of you 4343 owners have ever opened up your cabinets?
I'm just asking if you remember seeing long pieces of fiberglass wedged behind the 2420s.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom!

Sorry but I can't help you because I rebuilt my speakers with original cabinets and seperate components.

Why this is so important? I think this fiberglass is for acoustic isolation between the driver and the back of cabinet.

I opened up my cabinets in order to to pair the 2205 some twenty years ago and I don't remember having seen the pieces you're refering to.

The compression driver of my 4430 is wrapped in fiber glass. I would guess that it's common practice and that JBL believes that it's helpful to isolate drivers some. Stands to reason.
