I found a nice pair of L86's for sale. They're supposed to have all original drivers but they have black woofers. I thought I saw a pic of L86's (or maybe it was L96's?) somewhere on the forum and the woofers had white cones. Anybody know what's correct?

Thanks Brutal!

Pity. I've always liked the looks of white JBL woofers.

Per the technical manual, the 116H-3 is "not an exact acoustic replacement" for the 117H-1, and that both units should be placed in a stereo pair. Assuming this has been done, would the performance of these speakers be compromised in any way, or should I view this as a plus?

That all depends on subjective listening and evaluation of the XO, and different specs of the drivers. I doubt you're going to find anything seriously out of whack.
