Can't find anything in the heritage altec library or forums here. Does anyone know anything about them -- specs, age, quality, great/blah, etc. Thanks.

"The '75 component guide lists the 886B as a no-name 2-way using the same tweeter as the Madrid, and the same woofer as the Corona, with a passive radiator too. All parts marked "replace", indicating they're likely made by others. "
"886 uses stamped frame CTS woofer and a cone tweeter, sonically a very distant cousin of the Bolero."

Thanks. Glad to find out. "Sonically a very distant cousin" sounds like a politically correct way of saying sounds awful.

The few comments about picking them up for $20-30/pr and it being a fair deal
would seem to support that assessment. No guarantee that they couldn't be sold
for more, but I don't think anyone could retire early, based on flipping these.
