I'm glad you enjoyed the picture. As to building it today would not cost that much if you reversed engineered.

Wow is right!!! that is absolutely wonderful, those belong in a museum (the whole set up for that matter) :applaud:, do you have more information on this? where'd the picture come from how recent etc.?

Hey Ash, could you squeeze those horns into your system? ;)

Does the horns throat have a unique signature tone over today’s digitally CAD designs?

What is dimension of the horn, the front looks like its 4 foot square?

Good blimey! Look at the size of it! :applaud:That’s all need to get a rough idea on the scale. That would never fit my living room, without reducing the length. I read somewhere in the past that frequency response was narrowly restricted 100Hz? to 7Khz? That is easily 4 feet square.

Not a chance they’ll never fit! You need a large I mean a real large room I mean LARGE! Those horns certainly got the attention of the audience back in the 1920’s. (MOMI) The Museum of the Moving Image. That’s where they should be on show for the pubic.

What is that tipple bass mid drivers with open back fitted into the baffle?

They are Theatre Horns! meant to play in a BIIIIG room. In an old theatre there would be some room between the creen and the front row - and they would be behind the screen! I suspect they just don't work right up close and need some room for the waveforms to expand -

Other than TiDome, who has a music room that large?

Big enough to swing a cat around! :D if you get my meaning. These where designed for the Vitaphone system for Warner Bros The Jazz Singer. First you have to figure out how to get the damn things though the front door, never mind about the living room, unless it all detaches, which I’m guessing. I guess the adaptor or threading as been changed to accept modern day HF compression drivers.

Hmm, fascinating design I wonder how it would fair against the JBL 2360-A?

I was listening to one the other day - it had dual 555 receivers - and it sounds good close - very addictive sound. Unit came from PARK THEATRE, Racine WI.
