One of the hf divers in my pair of 4430s sounds like a diaphragm might be going bad. It has a slight but distinctive high frequency edge or resonance to the sound. These were purchased off ebay a few years ago and came out of an LA recording studio, so I think they were driven pretty hard.(SN 262057) I was thinking of using aquaplas diaphragms. Where can I send the drivers for replacement? I have not seen a source for the D8R275ND diaphragm.

Thanks,
Stephen

I have not seen a source for the D8R275ND diaphragm.Any JBL Consumer Service Center should be able to order them for you.

I checked with orange county speaker repair about installing the diaphragms. They were not familiar with the D8R275ND diaphragm and wondered even they would even fit my drivers. But they checked with JBL and they are back-ordered? until June!

But they checked with JBL and they are back-ordered? until June! That's because everytime something is mentioned on this board I then check stock and sure enough, someone has gone and ordered whatever they can.

I'd like to see them try and order all the 1500AL's :D 25 minimum order. :rotfl: Go for it!

Hello,
In a first step, it should check what your driver is fitted in 4430, JBL 2421,2425 or 2426.
After you change the defective part.
