I just set my Generation X son up with a Turntable and AMP/Tuner.
Turntable is belt drive with strobe and works quite well. He recently purchased an album (new 2 LP's) of which I forget the tiltle other than it's some kind of heavey Slaytanic stuff. Anyway it is audibly 6 + RPM slower sounding when it plays then it should be. I hope this makes sense.
Has anyone ever heard of faulty production/cutting to vinyl that would cause slower sound at 33 1/3 ? In all my years of collecting LP's I have never experieneced this....

As Seawolf said. 45 RPM 12" EP's as they are called (extended play) have been here since the 80's or possibly longer but they usualy only had 4 or 6 songs on them. I thought it would have had the speed printed on the label somewhere.:)

I guess I'm showing my age.....but I did look over the records and jacket....speed not listed.
Insert stupid little blushing emoticon here ::::
