Which do you prefer?
I have my custom center and a pair of L15s, and one pair of 115H and one pair of 706G. I have to decide which gets which. The 115H just got back from Orange Co Speaker and are in fine shape.
I have tried both drivers in both boxes and am still having trouble deciding. the 115H seem to have a little more solid bottom end, but the 706G seem to have a smoother response all through their range with no holes. The 706G may be a little stronger in the upper bass and mid-freq range too, which might make them better suited for the center. It's also not lost on me that L15s might have more value with original drivers, although they do sound smoother with the 706Gs.
Decisions, decisions. So many drivers, so little time. :banghead:
I may wind up trying each in the center box, then running auto-setup on my AVR and see what the PEQ does with them. The smoothest curve wins, sort of an approach.
