While I was re-doing the input terminals on the 2420 (that had previously been done bass-ackwards), I noted that the interior foam was pretty well deteriorated and mangled. Also, the insulators for the terminals that shield them from the case were in pieces.

Where have people been sourcing this foam (hopefully a local retailer) and where can I get the insulators, or what can I replace them with?

Thanks

Send it to JBL and they will go through it.

Where have people been sourcing this foam...I ordered it from JBL. They no longer had 2420/21 foam available, but 2440 foam was available and is large enough to be cut down to fit.

If you don't want to order it from JBL and are willing to use any old foam... then go buy any old foam.

I agree with 43, send the driver in for a tune up. I bet they will find other things wrong with it that need to be dealt with. If you bought it new and have the receipt, they will rebuild it for free, if not, you got it cheap and now is the time to pay. :)

And yes, the techs cut it down to size to fit the 2420/2421/LE85 back cap.
