These speakers are listed in an auction as 4726A but are obviously different than what comes up at jblpro.com - the horns look to be the same ones that Ralf has in his signature pic. What are these? 2" driver? It's also odd seeing the LF overlapping the HF...did these come that way? And are those a 12" or 15" LF? The seller lists them as 14", but the VC makes them look like 12".

After looking closer, those look like 2344 horns with a 12" speaker - did JBL actually ever build the speakers shown? They pretty much look like custom jobs to me...

Thanks for clearing that up, Giskard. The exploded view says "2344 modified" - it almost looks like they must have cut a notch out of the 2344 for LF clearance...

Yes, it does appear to be notched but I've never seen an actual unit up close and personal. Hopefully someone else has and can provide us the scoop. :)

Hello

I have seen a couple on Ebay. They are indeed notched with a radius to match the 2206.

I have dissected a number of those - there were 2 versions. The 4828 floor wedge and 4825 stand.

They were part of the first generation "concert series" and the components were:

2204H
2425H
2344 ( modified )

later they were updated to

2206H
2426H
2344A ( modified )

NO crossover was available. Biamp only.

The cabinet is birch plywood with a fiberglass overlay. Super heavy duty BUT the integral handles cracked and the horn was prone to break off when dropped.

JBL sold a pile of them at the first "warehouse" sale ( during the NAMM show ) in january 1997 for a whopping 166.67 each NIB, free shipping......:)

That was the best garage sale I ever went to...

Additionally these 2344 had 2 Reflex Ports behind the curved front horn.
