yeah, I know the Fogertys aren't there anymore, but we are headed over to Chinook Winds Casino at Lincoln City to see "Revisited" ...I have the double CD and the 2 remaining original members and 3 newbies do a great job on the old stuff ..

I saw the original group at Pleasenton ( SF area ) in '69 (with Eric Burdon and Canned Heat on the bill too) and CCR (revival) helped me make it thru "the big Asian Adventure"...I was on R&R in HK in '70 when first heard "Willy & the Poor Boys" ...didnt even know it was out,,,snagged a cassette and brought it home to the squadron...we copied it like crazy, in mono, I think, and was happy as clams. :D ...their popularity/air play (AFVN) made a connection to "the World" a little easier, a lasting impact on me.

nice concert ,,,room cap was 1301 and seemed completely full,,,,the original guys were great ....Stu Cook can still handle the bass, tho he may have slowed down a bit ....Doug "Cosmo" was amazing on the drums,,came out in his signature black tank top and worked the percussion like he was a 20 y.o. , the amazing part is that he's a month from 64th birthday.

keyboard guy was nothing special, tho lead guitar - Tom somebody from L.A. should have his own group....wasn't very keen on the lead singer, he sounded vaguely like Fogerty, but really, no one can replace John.

All the classics ,,,the extended Susie Q was the hit of the show, which by the end had a third of the audience up and dancing...lots of grey hair and beards in the crowd (so I fit in perfectly)

I gigged them twice - first when Elliot Easton was in the lineup - what a show with him on the bill. Amazing guitar work.

Second gig had the new guitarist as Elliot was out with the Cars or getting ready for it, actually. A letdown, the new guy didn't have it figured out yet and seemed nervous. Maybe he's settled in? When I heard him I think it was one of his first outings with CCR.

I bought the CD because I had to have that sound again, EE on guitar, anyway. The CD is pretty good but nothing like that night under the stars, dancing with the hippies.

Interesting to note that Stu Cook did a little background speech and said that he and Doug have been playing together for 51 years , since they were 13.

John, of course is off doing his thang, and Tom died in 1991.

Hey Wolf, my folks live in Depoe Bay and go to that casino often. I will have to tell them to keep me up to date on upcoming gigs.

I too saw them when Elliott Easton was playing guitar, great show!

When I was learning to play my uncle, also a drummer, told me to listen to two drummers in particular if I wanted to play Rock & Roll. The first was Jim Capaldi, the second was Doug "Cosmo" Clifford. His feeling was a combination of the two would give me the the right chops to play just about anything! I think he was right. Too bad in his later years Capaldi left the kit to be a frontman. Funny that you mention that , Mark ..... I liked the advanced lyrics of Suzy Q so much that when we were expecting our first and we were deciding on names, I figured that if a girl ,,she wud be Suzanne Quyen ( its hard to find a middle name with a Q ... Quyen means "Ruby" in Vietnamese ) and therefore I would have my own Suzi Q ..... true story

Suzi Creamcheese didnt seem quite right :( (who sang about that ? Zappa ? )
