Difference between 2342 and 2344?

'Just curious what the differences are between 2342 and 2344 bi-radial horns. JBL has info on the 2344 bu nothing on the 2342 other than what used them.

Edit: OK - should have done a search first - it looks like one has a full 1" opening and the other is more slotted, affecting upper dispersion characteristics. I need to go over it again...

After looking more, I also didn't realize the 2344 is much larger than the 2342. Seeing as both are no longer made, did JBL decide the flat front bi-radials performed better, or was it more a thing of practicality, (flat front enclosures, etc.)?

Again - 'just curious...
