Normaly I don't post stuff like this.....but I am just surprised as hell! I've never had anything beyonf a 160 watt vintage Pioneer SX-1250 hooked up to the L-300s. I just got another Mcintosh Preamp and my Mcintosh MC-2255 just got back from Mcintosh Labs for a thorough going over. I am amazed what a tune up can do for these vintage babys! I won't tell you I'm hearing things I haven't heard before but I will say in the most articulate way I can......The JBLs literaly kick ass! At low or high levels they sing! I bought a Mcintosh 39 Preamp with the THX module. It sounds to my ears to be as nice as the Model 33 preamp I had but with a remote. So now with the extra 125 watt Marants amps I had I'm going to get the home theater going again! Now I got to figure a way to mount 4 other L-300s on the walls!

Hi Figge The "077"is the big difference. It is like having that cold beer versus that warm beer.
