Do the JBL Olympus have tilted baffles?
On this picture it is hard to see if the baffles are actually tilted. I have managed to get a pair of cabinets that look very much like these, but I am unsure if they are original. The baffles are missing and I will have to cut new ones. I would like to restore them to S8 system or nearby.

Thanks. Mine look just like that but no tilted baffles, so they must be unoriginal. I haven't been able to find any passive radiators for them, so I thought of just putting my four 2205 woofers in there and the horns and tweeters on top of the cabinets, to avoid the HF problems from the overhang, that you desribed on a another forum. Just still wondering if they should be in sealed boxes or vented. Good thing I can try sealed first and vented later.

Run the 2205s in "Helper" 1.5 mode.

See 4435, EII, etc..

I know this might seem like a trick question, but it really isn't. Since I have Olympus cabinets without front baffles, and now I am going to make new baffles for them, I thought I might as well make them sloped as the originals. Does anyone know the angle (degrees) that the sloped baffle has?
Otherwise I might just do them with 10 or 15 degrees, which looks right from looking at Zilch's photos.
Thanks again

You could try a search on ebay for "JBL Olympus" and then ask the seller for the dimensions to get that angle...if no one here has an original cabinet?

On the Sovereigns the baffle is tilted 3.5cm.

Thanks. I can't see why that should differ on the Olympus. I will try this

What doesn't work is the deepening of the overhang at the top.

Tilt the horn/waveguide up with a wedge, instead, to combat the "plays to the knees" syndrome....
