they were OK, sounded like a L100 wannabe, tho too early....1967 , I believe,,,nice cab construction,,if cheap enuff & storage space ..go for it, but they wont replace your JBL's

two fisher speaker boxes - $150 (canby or)
empty all wood boxes/ will fit 15in 10in 2- 6in and 2- 4in in each box heavy duty and look killer..

As I remember they were good sounding speakers, but no match for the larger JBL's. I A-B them with a JBL C40 with the 001 system and the JBL easily won.;) John

I have owned a pair of the fisher xp-18s for going on 5 years now paid 75.00 150 in freight cost.. when i recieved them all four of the tweeters did not work.. as for my suprise i hooked them up yesterday and all working fine... I can see where people are very skeptical of these beasts.. i have them hooked up to a yamaha home theater reciever with an audionics ba-150 amp driving them.. to my suprise they play loud a little harsh sometimes on the upper midrange.. BUt what i have noticed is many people who buy these think that the 18's will just simply blow them away in bass response shake the house.. NO they were not designed like that.. You need a very LARGE room for these to really enjoy them need to be at least 15- 20 feet away to simply enjoy what these speakers can do.. I sat 25 feet away from them and listened. and was truly amazed at how natural these speakers are. They bring music to life even in the upper range... The key to these are your room size.. NO need to change out drivers maybe tweek a little on the cables but thats it.. I just watched memoirs of a geisha with these as my fronts on home theater and WOW They made me feel as i i were in a trance... Now I have owned several speakers in the 10's of thousands of dollar range and these well given the right room simply shows you they knew what they were doing back in 1967.. Hope this answers any questions any one might have for these... IF any one 100 mile radius of chicago has a pair and wants to part with them let me know

I have a pair of XP-18s I bought in the late 1960s to play my Schober Recital Model organ through and they have been serving me well for over 40 years. Those 18" woofers are easily capable of handling loud tones down to 32Hz or lower (needed for the 16' stops on my organ). They built well back then. Just today I was listening to a sound clip that included organ sound down to 16Hz--it was great!
