A local guy has a pair of Hartfields that he inherited from his Great-aunt along with her house. She bought the first in 1954 and added the second in 1957 or 1958 when stereo arrived.

They are mahogany, in good to very good condition, all original, never been moved. He is asking $10k for the pair, has an offer of $11k and would probably cave for another grand or two.

Question: Do I get into this fray or stay away?

Hummm :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:

Lemmie guess

Serial number 175 on the driver

So if hes asking 10K ,why not pay him his asking price and be done with it?

Sorry, I'm just a dumb retired car salesman. He's asking $10k and has an offer of $11K but might sell them for $12,000 or $13,000? Tell me, where is the logic in what you just wrote? Or has this now turned into a fishing expedition? :banghead:

Hi, I'm Steve. I bought the Hartsfields and put money down but haven't been able to pick them up yet. I sold my Tannoy reds to raise the cash (or some of it anyway), so I hope it's not just an $11K "offer" ;) I have a decent pic of the back of the older one that I can post now. I'll post some more photogenic pics when I get them. I'm psyched since I've wanted a Hartsfield for a long, long time. Oldmics, yes one of the 375's does have serial number of 175 and the crossover is 409-20.
