Do you know the Model number?? Last time I was looking for info on Synthesis electronics I found it mixed in with the speaker model number list.

It's buried in here section 6 if this is what you are looking for. Not a whole hell of a lot either. Just basic stuff. I couldn't find any seperate links for them. If you do find them please post them.

Rob:)

What info exactly are you looking for? A bunch of the JBL info can be almost directly translated by info at the Rane website. For instance, the JBL SPP-GE is virtually identical to the Rane FME-15, the main difference being that JBL uses a 3db/6db range switch, while Rane uses 6db/12db. By looking at the actual JBL board and comparing it to the Rane schematic, it's easy to spot the differences. And while I haven't matched through all the Rane data, I suspect it's basically the same model info for the JBL SPP-SWEQM sub EQ, only with different values. I've had the JBL units open before, and all the circuit board info still says "Rane" etc., so you may be able to do more model matching that way. I'm sure the power supply info will also be the same. And I do have one of those JBL units with 5 regular EQ's and 2 sub EQ's kicking around, if there's anything you want me to check.

Data Sheet: http://www.rane.com/pdf/old/fme15dat.pdf
Schematic: http://www.rane.com/pdf/old/fme15sch.pdf
Manual: http://www.rane.com/pdf/old/fme15man.pdf

Take a look at this for the main unit: http://www.rane.com/pdf/old/flexdat.pdf

I may have more info - if I find it, I'll post it here.

I *knew* it was almost the same as a rane line but the rane site ( a cursory peek ) didn't have the pictures posted. Why JBL doesn't have an easy to find "vintage" area to browse for this stuff is beyond me.

It took years of pleading to get PRO to fix typo's, add products and generally deal with it.

I guess consumer is only interested in the latest and greatest...:)

I have (3) of the GE full range eq's and (2) of the sub eq's in a frame that I bought real cheap and wanted to add 2 crossovers to it.

Thanks for the Links!

SubDon't get me started about JBL's info, though I have been in direct contact with a couple of the guys currently updating the site. The worst are the PDF's that are scanned at such low resolution they're absolutely unreadable. 'Probably have to be recreated to fix - I suspect the originals are gone. I could really use the schematic for the 4628B.

I'm pretty sure that crossover info you need is also at the Rane site - they have a few different ones I know. Unfortunately, the different numbering equations between JBL and Rane means looking through most the stuff just to figure out what it is.

Speaking of which, some of Rane's stand-alone stuff is pretty cool and fun to play with - I've picked up a few things just for fun. At pennies on the dollar, what's to lose?, (though most the stuff for fun requires Windows and a serial port for connection...). Their RPM26V and Z can be had for peanuts, (Z preferred because it uses ethernet), but gives you a fairly complete system controller, (again, mainly for learning or fun). Biggest drag on a lot of this stuff - the Euroblocks a bunch of their stuff uses...

I have a old dealers service manual that covers the cabaret stuff - if I can find it I can post a .jpeg of it. I will be back in the shop later this week.

The euroblock CP mixers are a snap to use for quickie dumb/smart installs as long as you correctly know the algorithim for the detector levels..:o)

I have found euroblock connectors that are too long for cheap and just cut them to size with a hacksaw.
