I have a 075 tweeter that has one broken lead that conects the voice coil to the input mounting post. Since the driver had the original red wax that was metled over the threaded screws on the horn, I assume the diaphragm is the factory original.

Anyway, is it worth trying to re-solder the lead or should I just replace the diaphram with an OEM factory unit?

If you can solder it and do a good job, go for it. You have nothing to lose.

If you can afford a brand new JBL D8R075 diaphragm, go for it. You have nothing to lose.

And... if you replace one, replace the other. There is nothing like a brand new set of tweeter diaphragms to wake up your tired old speaker system!
