For a long time I have been searching for 4 matching woofers for my next diy project. I finally found four 2205 woofers all 16 ohm units.
Only problem/question is that two of them are 2205b alnico and two are 2205J SFG.
If I put 2 matching ones in one cabinet and the other 2 in the other cabinet, do you think I would hear any differences?
They are to be used up to 800hz with my 2445 drivers on 2350 horns.

Thanks for any inputs

One of the 2 main reasons for the ferrite magnet shift was to reduce the uneven flux geometry in the gap by changing the way the field was built around it.

By putting 2 old and 2 new into separate cabinets you will probably hear a little difference and that might be magnified by the possibility of the alnico's having lost some strength over the 25+ years.

if you recone all 4, put one of each in each cabinet and if it's a "helper woofer" ( aka 4435 ) type configuration, perhaps the ferrite should be the lower one.
