I rember going to a local audio salon in the early 70's and auditioning a pair of JBL floor monitors.[maybe they were not considered monitors?] They may have been 4 to 5 feet in height and maybe 30 inches across . More of a narrowish cabinet They were split grill fronts and I believe the top half [or third]was orange. They were marvelous sounding {as just about all JBLs were in the day} I remember hearing Herb Alpert as if he were live in the room . Unforgettable!! So crisp- clean-accurate-bright and alive! Blew away the rest of the other lines of speakers I heard and essentially spoiled me on anything but the JBL sound and construction ever since! Anybody remember what the model of these may have been? Thanks

That was my initial thought, given that you could get an orange top on those, but they definitely are not 30" wide. Maybe audioland's memory is like my midsection, it gets wider as I get older.
