Hey Everybody,

I just bought two LE25-4 tweeters on eBay, and have realized they may be different than my existing ones. I have a pair of JBL L100's, (one with a non functioning tweeter) and a pair of JBL 4310's. I believe these two pair of speakers to have the same tweeters, LE25's, but the ones from eBay are LE25-4's, from Decade 26 speakers (model L26). Are these tweeter interchangable with the LE25's, and will there be any sound differences between the two?
Thanks,

James

Yes, they are interchangeable.

What will you do with the others?

NO sound difference between the two, just cosmetics.

Scott.

Hey, thanks for the reply.
I have now a total of six of these similar JBL speaker cabinets now - a pair each of L100, 4310, 4311. One of the L100 tweeters is nonfunctioning, so I'll replace that with one of the new ones, and keep the other as a back up. I suppose the blown one will be labeled as "busted" and stashed away until I'm forced to have it reconed, a job I've heard will cost me more than $100. That's why I bought these two on ebay for about $120. Saved money and a trip across town (twice). I use one pair for stereo/dvd movies, one for recording studio playback/mixing, and the other in the "guitar room" to learn new songs, etc. Have loved these speakers since my original purchase of the L100's in 1973. So efficient, and great sound at any volume. What's not to love?

I have 8 4311's, 2 4312's L&R, and a pair of L100's in the offset configuration. I have recone kits for all of the drivers stashed.

Also a brand new set of L100 blue quadrex grills in a box.

Keep 'em runnin!

Good luck!

Scotty.
