Anyone got a decent photo of a 4550A - other than the one in the library from the original brochure ?

http://www.ric.hi-ho.ne.jp/audio/image/2005%2001%2030jbl4550%20021.jpg is a good example of essentially the same thing. As was already mentioned, google image search is your friend.

Also, I'm thinking about building the same thing. If anyone has plans and/or more specific dimensions than the ones listed at http://www.jblpro.com/pub/obsolete/Low_Frequency_Enclosures2.pdf please do tell.

Those white cones were not painted. Absolutely original 2230A's. They are earliest 4350's, not 4350A's. See these catalogs.

Aren't 4550's supposed to lie on their long side? Horizontal pattern 75 degrees, vertical pattern 30 degrees? They stood on end in the 1971 pro catalogue but in all the others they were lying flat,.....:)

Is it possible you're confusing them with the 4550bka? See http://www.jblpro.com/pub/obsolete/Low_Frequency_Enclosures1.pdf

BTW I'm still looking for plans :)
