I've used Crown D150A-II, PS200, DC300A-II, and PS400s with my 4412As and they all sound great.

This kind of question comes up all the time and I'm never really sure what the writer is really asking. There must be hundreds of amps that will make your JBLs live up to their potential. Are you looking for a receiver? A separate power amp? What are you using now and what are you looking to improve? How do you listen to music? How big is your room? And the biggie: How much money are you looking to spend?

But then when I was a kid I powered by D130/075 with the headphone output from a Channel Master transistor radio. ;)

In fear of starting a big controversy I will say this the speaker is 85~90% of the sound quality, the Amp is the rest. The reason that all of us love JBL is because of the sound quality!
At the radio station I have 3 sets of 4312a speakers each driven with a different brand of AMP and the they all sound GOOD! Today there are so many good amps to choose from, you can go crazy from the choice.
What I have found out over the years is you can go from amp to amp and only hear very small differences(if any), but go from a JBL to any other brand of speaker and WOW what a difference. John:D
