Greetings, Friends,

The JBL 18" transducer I found at a local swap meet a few months ago, is a 2242HPL. What is the difference, if any, between that and a regular 2242H? Thanks, very much, and God Bless!

Every Good Wish,
Doc

Lack of a tire on the magnet. You can buy them at JBL Pro.

Ok - I've gotta ask - what does the tire DO?

Hello, Speakerdave,

Thanks, very much! I have some magnet "tires" on those 2445J's that Todd sold me, and also on some Altec stuff I've got laying around, so I know what you mean by using that term. Fun! I'm not sure that they are worth adding, as I won't be moving this stuff around, at all. But, I'll check them out at JBL Pro, and learn more about them. Thanks, again, and God Bless!

Every Good Wish,
Doc

helps to keep the ferrite/ceramic mag from getting chipped, lessens blow of impact... it happens.

Nothing , if it never leaves the cabinet. ;)

If you like to take them out and play with them on concrete floors then you might want to have them on your ceramic magnets.:o:

Yes, because I do like to roll them around on concrete floors... it's hypnotic.

Setting several of them spinning first is even better... sort of a giant "battling tops"
game... just watch your fingers when the magnets clink together.

...and don't forget your safety goggles... Safety First!
