I have a pair of JBL Control 28 speakers for my home stereo.

I was wondering if the JBL Control SB-2 would compliment my setup without any additional equipment.

Any help would be appreciated.

I use this subwoofer with a pair of control 5's that are wall mounted. I did not care for the sub's crossover (too crude, in my opinion) so I am using an active equalizer (80 Hz fixed) and feed the sub via an old SAE A-502 (200 watt/ch).

It's a rockin' combo!:applaud:

Would you mind taking some pictures of your setup?

I'd love to see the SB-2 in action.

Can do. I have the control-5's wall mounted using MTC-51's. The SB-2 is corner mounted off to one side and the stereo in the other corner. Pics tomorrow, too tired today!

Thanks, I appreciate it.

In the meantime, how is the build? Does the particle board feel flimsy?

Also, someone mentioned this on another forum.

" Frequency Range (-10 dB): 38 Hz-160 Hz " http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/images/smilies/frown.gif

That spec alone pretty much knocks it out of consideration for serious HT use.

Would you consider that statement true?

Thanks for taking the time to assist me. You're a tremendous help.

Yes that statement is true, IMO as well. I use it for sound reinforcement and it performs quite well in that role.

Interesting, good to know. How is the build? Any scratches or minor damages?
