Does anyone have any pictures of the Altec 10A/MR956A cinema loudspeaker? I’ve Google the image section for a faster route but, not one single Altec A10 in sight?

I was reading though the list of THX approved equipment and this is one of many items selected for THX installation.

Oh, cheers for finding that I see it, yeah I see it kinder like the JBL 4675-A. Only a slight cosmetic appearance, the input terminal is on the lower part of the enclosure where on the 4675-A its located on the top, colour of course is difference and the size of the enclosure looks winder?

The horn is if not similar to the 2360-A, thou maybe the EV Eletro-Voice TS9004D-LX or EV 9040T.

Oh, cheers for that I was surprised to read that it employs 16” bass mid drivers rather than the usual 15” that is found in many cinema PA speakers.

The type of electronic frequency dividing network, that Altec recommends for the Altec 10A stage speakers.

Curious.....I picked up a set of the JBL 4675s last summer but the 2360 horns were _huge_ and I traded them out for a set of smaller 2380 horns to mount in the living room. This is a very nice setup for real home theater....

I also note that the Altec version - surprisingly similar - required the use of an electronic crossover whereas the 4675s used a 500hz passive crossover but, of course, could be biamped if needed. My 4675s have the 2225J 15" woofers in them and work quite nicely in the proper sized room with my Mac MC-225 tube amp.

Cheers,

David
