I would bet that original 2234s will be hard to find. You can find plenty of 2235s though. Just have a reconer remove the mass ring and voila an instant 2234!
Alternatively you can get 2225s or blown 2235s and have them reconed with the 2234/2235 kit.

Only way to go is to get 2235 baskets blown and recone w/o mass ring. Cherokee studios had about 12 pairs of the 2234 actually the basket was 2235h they had them custom built for W/O mass ring. I mentioned cherokee had these and a few people here got some. Those were dam good drivers they had. I got 4 2235h with the ring last 4 they had. Buying woofs is risky ive seen everything good ,blown ,rattlers, frozen cone ,shifted magnets, anyway Im in no rush whatsoever. Have fun

Yeah, typical inane pricing... $318 for a 128H-1 and only $275 for a 2234H. $240 for the 2118H versus $230 for the 2123H. Harman Service has recently gone through and re-priced a whole slew of their stuff as well, none of which makes a whole lot of sense.

The price my be driven by current stock of raw material or quantity run.

It has been my experience, and I believe that of most people who have dealt with JBL Pro or Home Audio, that the price of replacement parts seems almost arbitrary.
I am surprised to see the 2234 available but that is good news for anyone wanting new original drivers.

Yep, been dealing with it for 25 years. For a brief instant when they went computerized I thought things might change but no cigar.
As for 2234H's being available; I envision a team of archeologists called in every few years or so to unearth long lost stock.

I'd be most happy to avail myself for some dusty digging :D
