Hi,

Could someone be so kind as to tell me the difference between the JBL L80, L80T and the L80Ti, or to direct me to a good source of info? I can find info on the L80 & 80T, but I'm having trouble finding anything on the Ti. Thanks!

Thanks Oznob,

Much appreciated. I wonder if the "Ti" refers somehow to the titanium tweeter? I confess I'm surprised to not find any info on it online, even after combing through Google search results that included several pages translated from Swedish & German: "...but nobody with 'its ahnung, or was perhaps's title (I have changed, will not what andrehen here)."

Very helpful... :D

Thanks for the links, Oznob!

Here's the 1988 JBL L series flyer, FYI. I have to say I have heard a boat load of JBL speakers over the years, and owned a few, but never that vintage the of "L" series.

This is the only line of speakers, coveted by many, with the "ti" designation that I am aware of, save for a few special models.

But aren't those ti drivers long out of production, causing prices of the remaining speakers to rise above a reasonable range?

I don't think that JBL ever made an L80 or an L80Ti. If they did, they must have been overseas models, because I've never heard of them.

Then you must have been napping when they put out the L80 Caprice. :snore: I'm pretty sure we've seen pictures of the Caprice here on the site. The L80 part is often overlooked.

You're right though, no L80Ti that I'm aware of. ;)

Ah, here we go. Hard to confuse these with L80T, huh?

I had a Caprice once only it was made by Chevrolet.:p THose must have been BIG sellers! Kind of mod looking in a 60's sort of way.
