A good match would be the 802-8D HF driver with a 511-A sectoral horn and a N501-8A XO.

Altec library here is often helpful. As is google, try "Altec 411-8A" as a start.

appears the driver was mated with 511/811 horns with different crossovers,
including a biamped model, and was designed for sealed enclosures.

OK; thanks very much

I've beeen using the search function and learning from the posts here, however, I can't read much of the original company literature from my browser. The text is too small and I have not been able to increase the size with the "view" button

I'm I missing something?

no - the problem is that its a JPG, an image file, basically its a picture of a printed page, and your text resize button only works for actual text within a webpage, not text in a picture. Unless you have image editing software like Photoshop, the chances are you'd have to change your screen settings to make the image larger (relatively speaking)
What happens if you print the image of the brochure ? can you read the text on the paper?

I think this is a relatively high moving mass driver with an FS of 18, and will perform at its best crossed rather low, 500 or less.
I think it was best known for its use in the Barcelona cabinet if you can look that up.

Some like to use the attenuator / equalizer #30904 or #30923 when matching the 411 to the drivers and horns.

The Barcelona and Santiago that use it are listed on this page.

For the studio or pro version #9846 that uses it

I've beeen using the search function and learning from the posts here....In which case, you have found this by our founder:

Also, by contemporary standards, 511 is not a 500 Hz horn, rather 800 Hz, and you'll need HF compensation on that HF driver to get it to do anything but shout midrange.

I know, I'm a pain in the ass answering many of your inquiries, but what you don't seem to get is that what you're mostly asking is, "How can I build this or that crappy vintage speaker?"

What happens if you print the image of the brochure ? can you read the text on the paper? Are you using MS Windows XP? If so, here is a suggestion for making the text bigger on a .JPEG file. Download the image to your local harddrive, and view the image with "Windows Picture and FAX Viewer." There is a zoom function in the lower center of the viewer. You can zoom in to make the image larger by clicking on the magnifying glass with the + sign.
