Iam just looking for input if the different looking D16R2405's in the pic will affect the sound of the 2405's.Both are suppose to be D16R2405 and don't know if one is better than the other for whatever reason . I was thinking the appearance is because the one on the left was manufactured in 1996 and the one on the right was manufactured more recent. Thanks

Is your question, "Will a 2008 diaphragm sound different than one made in 1996?" Looking at the pics, they appear to be the same.

In answer to that question... they should sound the same.

Agreed. Go ahead and strap them in!

Should be just fine.

yeah... unless one is damaged, the idea is that a properly installed unit
would meet some frequency response curve specification +/- some number
or fraction of dB (i.e., that it would meet factory specs).

Will they measure identically? Almost certainly not, if you look closely
enough, but neither would "matching" serial number units or diaphragms.

You can trust this info, or you can measure it :)
