Hi,
I would like to bid on ebay or where ever for a pair of L100's. I know the originals use the LE20-1 tweeter and a different crossover. In a picture you can identify this by the mid and tweeter in a straight line and the tweeter is easy to spot. My problem is telling the difference between the L100A, and L100A Late in a picture. How can you tell if the speaker is using the 123A-1, or the 123A-3. Is there a difference on the mid/tweeter badge color or something or a serial number cut off. Any help with this would be great.

Late models will probably have twist-lock binding posts.
Early L100A probably had the spring-loaded type.

Early L100A will probably have black & white foilcal label that says Century and Los Angeles, CA.
Late models probably have the orange JBL logo on the foilcal with Model L100 and Northridge, CA.

YMMV

The wires coming through the cone of a 123A-1 are at 90 (3 o'clock), 180, 270 or 360 degrees. On a 123A-3, they are at 45 (1:30), 135, 225 0r 315 degrees

Thanks so much now I can tell the cabs with red or black labels apart, and the wires from the woofer is perfect I checked all the pictures on ebay and that is dead on. I would have never even thought of that, now I will know what I am buying.

If the woofers are out of the cabs 123A-3 wires point towards mounting bolt hole, 123A-1 wires point between mounting holes. For the ebayers who only show a frontal pic.
