I bought some L100 boxes only (no drivers) and I was wondering weather anyone has ever tried to install a compression driver into this smallish box?

Are there any horn lenses that might mate to a JBL HF 2426H and fit into the L100 cabnet?

Any other suggestions; I suppose I could fabricate a horn lens for this purpose; right?

Thanks...

Perhaps JBL #338800-001 wave guide for only 9.90 US. ( available thru JBL Pro Parts, 818-894-8850 ) This wave guide is 6" by 12". If this is too wide, there are other wave guides that will work. Ask Zilch about his ARs he did this to.

Any other suggestions; I suppose I could fabricate a horn lens for this purpose; right? It's a tight cluster of holes for the port, tweeter, and mid there. "Search" will find how one member put in the slot tweeter, but the overall result was not all that good, sonically. The crossover has to be reworked.

There are many two-way options available once you fill in the existing openings. Another approach would be to replace the baffle entirely, not terribly difficult, from the looks of it.

Though I have not actually done it, L88 appears to be a slam dunk using the waveguide Russell called out above....

...depth of box is about 11 inches. I suppose if I were to use a JBL 2426H compression driver, some of the horn lenses below might work; right?

you could position the horn on top, like an old altec VOTT.
leaves you very flexible, but if it sounds good i dont know.

Come on Demon, I think the OLD Altec VOTTs are right around the same vintage as the L100s.:D

Excellent question though because I always felt the L100 would be a much better speaker if it was horny!
