4343 impedance

While modifying my 4343 xovers last night I figured out the following strange thing:

When driving my 4343 at high level (appr. 50 - 100 Watts) WITHOUT the Bass conected. My amp protection circuit switched the amp on and off.
Is there an impedance problem when not all speakers connected with the filter?

I can't test with the bassdriver next time as I have to wait until the neigbours are out ;)

Never run an LC filter without a load. The impedance will drop to zero without a load at the resonant frequency of the filter. In the case of your 4343's, without the bass driver loading the filter, that would occur around 300 Hz.

I had the same problem testing the 3145 xover, shut down the test amp in minutes
