Suggestion:

You have two of each (2225H, 2226J)? I'd start by doubling up the -same-
driver type in each cabinet and running them in parallel in each box...
This does mean you'll end up running ~4ohms in the 2225 box and
~8ohms in the 2226 box, but at least the drivers will share the load
evenly... might have to turn up the amp control on the 2226 side to balance.
I'd also start looking for a pair of drivers to match... probably something in
the 8ohm range (2225H or 2226H) if you want to get the most watts from
your amp.

... or trade the 2225H's for two more 2226J's and get another crown amp
and bridge them both; one amp per cab.

In any case, best to have all drivers be similar in impedance, if not
identical when running two in a box.

I guess I wasn't clear. From your posts, it's a bit fuzzy what you actually
have...

First... it is your money. Make sure you understand what you're spending
it on and why. Second... this is not JBLpro, so if you blow up stuff based on
opinions here, it will just be unfortunate. It would probably be a good idea
to give them a call (818) 894-8850.

My suggestion at the end was that you end up with four 16 ohm drivers,
run two of them in parallel in each cabinet, and then consider running 2
amps in bridged mode. The 2226J's are good for 600w each as long as you
don't push them below cabinet tuning (~40Hz ? ... not knowing what cabinets
you have) so a bridged CE2000 isn't overkill (1320w bridged mono into
8 ohms).

You could also just try to find four matching 8 ohm drivers and use the
single CE2000 (which was my first suggestion).

Dear Jason,

Here is the cut sheet:
http://www.jblpro.com/pub/cinema/4648a.pdf

You have a 4508 cabinet as do I. Mine are also known as EN-8 DIY speaker kits from the very early 80's.

Load those two cabinets with 2 matching drivers, 2226H 8ohms, and run 1 cab on each side of your CE2000's. I wouldn't run them much higher than 800 hz. And I don't believe they will excell at the thump down below 60 hz. If you some double 18 sr4719 style of subs under them, they would look and sound like my thumbnail picture to the left.

Sell the 2225's and the 2226J's to someone else. This cab is a great all around low frequency box and is used in MANY different JBL configurations.

Find a couple of old school horns and drivers for a great two-way rig. In the newer music, and if you are planning to use them as subs for gigs, they won't give you that deep rumble of the trance or hiphop genre, but will be very respectable for all other music.

They are heavy in pounds by nature, because of the MDF material they are manufactured with. The corners will chip with load in and load outs. Its just the way it is.

Good luck! and welcome to the forum.

Scotty.
