I am building a jbl 4345 and I sent this guy the orginal jbl 4345 xover plans.

http://www.jblproservice.com/pdf/network%20schematics/3145%20network.pdf

his question to me is This xover can be greatly simlified, for example in the LF section the four 20uf caps in parallell are equivalent to a single 80uf why is this network not reduced ?.

I told him I want to use updated poly caps , bigger coils etc but to keep everything in spec as jbl plans stated.

any more advise on the xover will help me out big time thanks

The cap question isn't the question he should be asking. The real issues are the tapped autoformers. He will not be able to build you a proper network from that schematic since it uses specialized parts that are NLA.

If you search, you will find the info needed in the various threads posted here... or perhaps a 4345 guru will step forward with some help.

Not a guru, but I think all the info you need is below. Check out post number three here:

If you're going through all the effort to build a pair, I would highly recommend you build the charge coupled network.

By the way, the LF and a few MF network components could be eliminated if you go bi-amp only. This is also highly recommended.
