quick question: what exactly is meant by "forward voicing" referred to on so many of the control monitor series?

is that poor off-axis response or the rising peak typical in the 6-7Khz area?

I see in a lot of the JBL literature they speak of being "tailored to have a forward mid-range characteristic, which many users favored since it allowed them to hear program details under less than ideal conditions"

thanks as always
