Hey guys -

I was just wondering if anyone has cracked the code for figuring out - through serial number - when a piece of McIntosh was made?

I have an MC 2100 with serial number: 07W60

Any idea as to the date of manufacture?

Thanks!

:)

Crazy thought - did ya try the MAC site?

I mean, THEY didn't have a Northridge quake, right?

Google is your friend "I" found it pretty quick ...

I checked that MAC site - Looks like it was sold for an 8 year period - '69-77

If you need more specific info I suggest a more specific MAC site - good luck out there.

Thank you for that wonderful info, but like we all know - companies use serial numbers for specific dates of manufacture. That is what I am trying to find out.

It's been a while, but McIntosh was always helpful when I called them with a question. Although I never asked them about serial numbers, I'll bet that the service department would be able to help you right away. If you try, please let us know what happened.
