Could someone help me locate a KSS-281A optical pick up block for my sick CD player?, it is NLA from Sony.

You might try the guys at DIY Audio forum. I've seen extended posts on older CD player tweaking and repair. Very knowledgable people on the digital part of this site.

Also, this may help. Especially the Tweaks DIY Asylum. (who else would buy a brand new CD player and gut it, replacing all of the inferior components?)
